This February, George Carey, an expert in technical surveillance and countermeasures, will give an introductory training on information protection, electronic surveillance, and countermeasures (or TSCM), which will help investigators understand what TSCM is, how to apply it in your investigations, and when to bring in an expert. 


About our speaker: 
George Carey is retired from a 30-year law enforcement career in California. Collateral duties during his career included conducting technical building entries in support of the service of search warrants in major narcotics investigations, organized crime, and counter terrorism cases.

Since retiring he has trained over 4200 law enforcement, military special operations personnel, and EOD technicians in skills related to technical building entries in support technical surveillance operations and other high-risk endeavors.

For the past 14 years George has provided Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) services to government, corporate, and HNWI clients. He has also subcontracted to private investigators in need of TSCM support.

During 2018 and 2019 he traveled to the middle east to provide TSCM training to specialists from a foreign government intelligence service. 

George has over 25 years of experience conducting physical security assessments around the world having traveled to over 30 countries in South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

George holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Criminal Justice Administration and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Training portion of the general meeting will begin immediately after association announcements, and the networking portion of the meeting will take place after the training, for everyone who wants to stay on and catch up.
